Describe the bug
Possibly related to #257, now the tests are failing in the CI but this is not consistent with what is being observed through locally running the tests.
Currently tests are failing on Linux in the CI but passing locally.
To Reproduce
On commit to the repo, CI tests are executed. Locally run 'pytest'.
Expected behavior
'Results' of the testing should be consistent.
