Apparently cannot complete Zork #256

According to all Zork walkthroughs, you must go North, North, Up the tree, Take 
egg, Down, South, and East as the first part of the game. At this point, you 
are supposed to be back at the house that you started at, but every time I have 
restarted and preformed this sequence, I arrive in the Clearing instead of the 
house. I'd love to complete this game, but apparently it is impossible, even 
after resorting to a walkthrough. 

What version of Frotz are you using?
1.7

What device model are you using: iPad 2

What version of iOS?  8.2

Please provide any additional information below.

It's not a bug in iFrotz; you seem to be playing the original Zork, instead of 
Zork I which is what those walkthroughs refer to. The original Zork, also known 
as Dungeon, is the game that was eventually split in three: Zork I, II and III. 
It may be confusing, but Zork != Zork I. :)

You can download the Zork that matches the walkthrough you have by searching 
for "Zork 1" in the IFDB Browser.
