Radiation shield #9

@JCP-Team/jcp282 Here are two links for ideas on a first stab at fabricating the radiation shield.

  1. The first is using melamine plates. We have access to the CNC router in the Heavy Machine Lab, so we can route the base of the plates out nicely. Here is an image.

  1. The second one is one that I really want to try on the 3D printers at Engineering 4.0.

I do not know if a single member takes charge of the design, but hey, you can all play around. I found this channel on YouTube of Lars Christensen very useful for learning Fusion 360. And, remember, if you create an account (I believe you should use your University email address), you can get a one-year free access to use the software... and you can renew it yearly as long as you are a student ;-)

And a quick search shows that there are numerous videos on drawing a helix in Fusion 360. As soon as someone has a drawing, let me know, and then we see if we can head over to the 3D printers.
