The page is served insecurely over http and results in possible tracking by that site (although I am sure you aren't really interested in seeing what articles we visit ;) and/or anyone who is MITM your connection, for example if you are using public WiFi).
My suggestion, for anyone who feels like putting in a PR, is to have the "Site Blocked - Access Denied" served directly from the extension. What do you think @JDStraughan ?
Not sure if this extension is still being maintained, but I think there is a privacy/security issue associated with visiting a blocked site.
When you visit, for instance bbc.co.uk, you are redirected to the following page:
