Please, look attached video firefox_bookmarks_backup.mpg (first unpack it) with
firefox_bookmarks_backup.srt subtitles file.
All encoding in file firefox_bookmarks_backup.srt in utf-8, russian language,
but
some sentenses are not correctly displayed in gnome-mplayer.

Did you try setting the "Subtitle File Encoding" in gnome-mplayer under
Edit->preferences Subtitles and set the value to Unicode?

I have set value to UNICODE alredy, but it has no effect.
Also i try to change subtitles font to DeJaVu Sans without visible effect too :(

Well I watched the video and set the File Encoding to "blank" (no value) and
everything looked ok to me. But as I don't speak Russian I may be missing
something
can you send a screen shot where it is wrong, with the incorrect text
highlighted?
Also, have you reported this to the mplayer team?

I researched it.
The problem is actually with subcp.
Wrong displayed subtitles are when i select subcp UNICODE, but that's okay, if
i choose subcp utf8. Tested with mplayer.
In the gnome-mplayer subcp menu UTF-8 is missing, it is a better choice than
UNICODE should be added. UNICODE is not same as UTF-8.
