In my experience, Steal Focus does little to prevent the keystrokes from going to their intended target. However, it is able to capture the keystrokes in most cases, which is useful for giving the victim an idea of what might have happened. In addition, keeping the window focused forces the victim to notice that there has been an attack (or at least a possibly-unauthorized USB insertion) and give them a chance to asses any damages sooner rather than later. I'd hate to be shutting down for the evening only to notice that something triggered a keyboard alert on my lunch break, four hours earlier.
I feel that Steal Focus should stay, even if not for the originally intended reasons.
The success of this option is mixed, and for now it is better to just lock the workstation.
