Work to reduce biases in the North Atlantic, especially associated with the subpolar gyre and overflows.

Work to characterise biases and impact of forcing and initial conditions. MM lead, DB, DS
Local MES-coordinates over Greenland-Scotland ridge in eORCA025: Technical paper on localistion method and test in idealised and realistic settings (JAMES). DB lead.
Longer tests with ORCA025 forced and coupled and ORCA12 - documentation paper. CG and DB lead. see #13 #14 #15
Test embedded MEs-coordinates elsewhere (e.g. Southern Ocean – see that section for details). Could look at results from SE-NEMO first and then run other tests.
Ongoing work on pressure gradient schemes to enable use of hybrid coordinates in global (and coastal) models: MB, DB
Using AGRIF zooms with localised MEs coordinates in ORCA025 and ORCA12 to try to improve a) Gulf stream separation and path b) Labrador Sea mesoscale activity and mixed layer depth c) Mediterranean overflow Lead by DB (See also #9)
Idea of using online passive tracers and/or offline drift calculations (ARIANE, OceanDrift) to look at current/advection pathways. DS

I think Tracmass (https://www.tracmass.org/examples.html) might be a better choice than ARIANE or OceanDrift. If time permits and I've managed to get the MES version of GSRIDGE36 running I am hoping to learn a little about using it next year from Ollie Tooth (Oxford PhD).
