Add legal cases to dataset #7

The project dataset is a list of legal documents in which postdocs are involved. We have identified documents based on searches of Westlaw and Google Scholar. We also invite people to contribute other public legal documents involving postdocs.

You can contribute to the project by adding public legal documents to this Google Sheet containing our dataset.

I did a Google Scholar search of case law mentioning postdoc or post-doc. These records need to be checked for relevance to postdocs, checked for duplication of existing documents, and added to the Google sheet containing our dataset.

I have now added titles and links for all cases from Google Scholar on the document linked above to the data spreadsheet. They still need to be checked for duplicates, and of course to have all data elements completed.

I found another source that can be searched for cases, the California Official Reports Public Access Web site. Although Lexis-Nexis puts up a lot of licensing language, if you click through it clearly states that there is no copyright on opinion text. So we can include the opinion text in our database. These 10 cases came from searching postdoc*. California Official Reports No Copyright on Opinion Text 03272021.pdf

The California Official Reports website https://advance.lexis.com/container?config=014DJAAzMGJkMTZjMi03MDVlLTQ5MWQtOTUyYi01Y2YyYjBjN2IzZmUKAFBvZENhdGFsb2dd3XfL66WtUcULK93oXtRU&crid=2c9396dc-7a48-4b1b-9d22-905d52103834&prid=45888c76-eddf-4077-9b0c-97f744d0de0c works better on Firefox than Chrome.

4 cases were added to the spreadsheet, with ID numbers starting with 3. Most of the cases were not in scope. They were about postdoctoral training early in an expert witness career.
