[pol] or [hon] for お- terms?

In the お嫁さん entry, Marcus has raised the question as to whether it should be tagged [pol] or [hon]. Our definitions for the tags are: hon: honorific or respectful (sonkeigo) language pol: polite (teineigo) language

According to Daijirin's entry for 丁寧語, the お prefix is an example of its usage: "また，接頭語「お」も，「お弁当」「お酒」「お茶」などのように，丁寧語としても用いられる。"

We currently have about 500 entries tagged "hon" and about 300 with "pol". Most (of both) are terms with the お prefix. If we agree that they are indeed 丁寧語 and hence should be tagged [pol], there may be a way to do some bulk conversion. Certainly, editors could change them as appropriate.

尊敬語

The kokugos usually make it clear by using expressions like 丁寧にいう語, 敬っていう語, 尊称, etc.

お嫁さん looks like 丁寧語 to me.

お名前 for example is [hon] rather than [pol] because you can't use it to refer to your own name, as I understand it. If you wouldn't use お嫁さん to refer to your own wife, isn't it then [hon]?

I think お嫁さん is too colloquial to be 尊敬語.
