N95JPL commented 3 years ago

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Checklists.. as they stand need a lot of work!

Describe the solution you'd like Create custom, dynamic & interactive checklists

Describe alternatives you've considered None... but this does go hand in hand with the POH

Additional context Add any other context or screenshots about the feature request here.

I could make a custom pdf checklist if that would help...let me know

Don't know how to edit in MSFS for the default but if it's as easy as editing an html or txt file of some sort, let me know.

N95JPL commented 3 years ago

This would be greatly appreciated if the offer still stands? Thanks!

EricFlight commented 3 years ago

I'll get on it..give me 2 weeks

It will be a pdf version

Give me more time after I make it, I could make a video on the Eric Flight YouTube Channel on using the checklist with the mod

EricFlight commented 3 years ago

I'll start working on it this weekend. I have the flow of what I want on it done (like real life) but just need time to create it. As far as in-simulator checklist, it looks like you can edit the checklists but maybe you can take what I'll create in PDF (so people can use on a different monitor or tablet) and put it in the sim with the updates you do.

Perfect! How is this coming along? I'll be starting/continuing work on the C152 POH documents this week

EricFlight commented 3 years ago

I have the info I just need to lay it out nicely on a PDF...I'll try to get it done by Sunday

EricFlight commented 3 years ago

Here is v1.0 of the checklist...check it over for accuracy and we'll make it official (I'll be flying with it tonight and possibly tomorrow on the sim to check it as well)

Hi - Eric - It's been about 40 years since I flew a C150. This checklist looks excellent, but I have a question, and maybe the answer in something that has changed over the years.

In the Pre-Taxi/Taxi section, there is are items to TEST the Attitude Indicator, Turn Coordinator, and Heading Indicator. Is there actually a way to test these instruments?

Other than that, the organization and layout is great.

pixelfreezer commented 3 years ago

@cprgolds During taxi, watch the instruments as you turn the plane with the rudder pedals.

You check these while you're starting your taxi out to make sure the ball is moving in the turn coordinator, make sure the flag stays off, make sure the heading gyro is moving properly, and make sure the pitch attitude stays level (it's all about making sure the gauges are working correctly). This came from an actual real-world checklist and is what I use in real life.

EricFlight commented 3 years ago

I've done a couple of test flights with the checklist and approve it. You could do a preflight with it as well if you really wanted to. On the bottom of the checklist you will note the go to Start if you don't want to/are done with preflight with the understanding that you need to make sure the fuel is on.

EricFlight commented 3 years ago

Anyone know how to program this checklist into the simulator? I have it in sections too for organization

N95JPL commented 3 years ago

@EricFlight This is perfect thanks! In regards to the in-game, check out "jplogistics-c152/SimObjects/Airplanes/Asobo_C152/Checklist/Cessna152_Checklist.xml" to see how the game reads it! I will take a closer inspection of the flow tonight when I do a flight!

Excellent work! Thankyou!

EricFlight commented 3 years ago

I don't think I'm going to be able to edit the xml file...I'll keep looking at it but it's looks a little intricate so far.

EricFlight commented 3 years ago

I did a whole stream on Twitch tonight using the checklist and talking up the mod. I will post this to the Eric Flight YouTube Channel and people who download the mod can use it for reference with the checklist and how to use it. I have to give it 24 hours until I can upload it to YouTube but it is available on the Eric Flight Twitch Channel as of now.

N95JPL commented 3 years ago

Don't worry about the XML! I fancy a little coding session, I will muster that up soon! I didn't manage to watch the stream live but just glanced through it then, good stuff I'll add that as a tutorial link 😉

Just one question! During the descent should "Richen" be "Enrich"/"Enriched"? Maybe I'm wrong just sounded wrong in my head!

EricFlight commented 3 years ago

Richen means the same.rhing

Wait until I upload it to YouTube on the Eric Flight YouTube channel. Twitch will take it down after a while

Trying the beta v1.0.0 right now.....idea for the checklist (don't know if it's possible). Could you have it in a pocket in the back of the passenger chair or in the side tray behind the seats and open it up (the pdf) that is while in the cockpit to view?

Again...don't know if it's possible but just a thought....also, I think you should just put a tow bar (nice job already), seat elevator cushion for pilots (to adjust height when they're too short to see over the nose...again..used often for training schools if needed), and also a first aid kit in the back (used for emergencies)

I'm going to report what I see with this model
