Quantum computing threat model is brute force attack model

The threat model for the quantum computer sounds much more like a brute force attack. The point of the quantum computer is that it makes guessing the keys theoretically tractable, i.e. not requiring more energy than the sun or multiple ages of the universe

1. We now know that Quantum Computers exist in prototype at least and they are with big government so we don't know real extent on their existence. Attack on bitcoin possible. Retort of "other systems would go down first" also doesn't count with this as governments wont be doing all out attack on each other. Bitcoin is also run on confidence like banks, break one wallet and you break all confidence.
2. Quantum Resistant Algorithms can be applied, such is the retort given but they are not here yet?
