Additional Information

I saw another closed issue similar to this one, the solution given was to just type the password normally and it should login as it is the part of swaylock effects. I have tried that multiple time with no fruitful results. (btw I love your work, keep it up).

JaKooLit commented 2 months ago

did you start typing your password to unlock? You dont need to click anything ..

just type your password

if so, update to hyprland-git or hyprland v0.41.0 causw I know lots of fixes there

I am sorry I don't know what 'unlike' is

I am on v0.40.0 right now, I will update to v0.41.0 and test again.

JaKooLit commented 2 months ago

ive edited... mistype

its unlock not unlike

Ika-00 commented 2 months ago

Yes, after I opened the laptop lid, it shows me the time running, system uptime, my username, etc. I do not click anywhere, just start typing the password but nothing happens. There is no text box or anything indicating my input is being registered via keyboard.

JaKooLit commented 2 months ago

ok.. update to new hyprland

if still not fixed, better report to

hyprlock github

most likely its a hyprlock/hyprland issue

Ika-00 commented 2 months ago

I tried updating hyprland, now I can't login rofl, it just asks me for password again and again. My mistake not making a backup. Also, if I make fresh install right now, will the new Hyprland v0.41.0 release install or the previous v.40.0 ?

JaKooLit commented 2 months ago

how did you update hyprland?

I am using hyprland-git so I know no issue with the dots

Ika-00 commented 2 months ago

I tried it by manually copying the bin files (saw on wiki). It's alright I made a fresh install like 12 hrs ago so nothing important is gone. I will report to you if the same bug occurs after I make a fresh install again and hopefully get the latest updated Hyprland.

JaKooLit commented 2 months ago

just install using yay or paru

you need to install also hyprwayland-scanner-git

Solved! The issue was with Hyprland v.0.40.0, updated to the newest commit, it's working now. Thanks for helping me out!! You can close this issue :)
