I have not checked the debug messages, however I am having the same error.
I had the same issue. I have noticed that the powershell does not find the "java" command. FIX: install Java https://www.java.com/en/download/

I've updated to the latest java, but it still does not work.
Just a guess, but is JabFox supposed to work with your JabRef version (4.3.1)?
I am running the current developer version and JabFox is doing what it is supposed to do:
JabRef 5.0.0-dev--2019-10-21----0f0dce621 Windows 10 10.0 amd64 Java 12.0.2
If you switch to the developer version (https://builds.jabref.org/master/), create a backup of your database first, since there are still quite a few bugs that need to be fixed.

It is written from the MarkDown description that at least JabRef 4.2 is required. Then shouldn't this work with JabRef 4.3.1?
I'll try to use the developer version again because I've already tried it a long time ago but it didn't seem to work at the time.
@tobiasdiez : Is the current version of JabFox supposed to work with version 4.3.1? Or does it require the current developer version?
In principle, it should work with 4.3.1 but from my experience it is more stable with 5.0 (dev).
I have the same issue. Using the same configuration as OP, except for JabRef 5 (dev snapshot; didn't work with current stable either though) and JabFox 2.1.2.
Console is not very active though, see screenshot:
There were many recent improvements that hopefully fixed this issue. I'll close it for now, but please let me know if you still experience issues and I'll reopen it.
Hi, :)
I've installed FireFox for using JabFox. I am currently using Windows 10 64bit, JabFox seems not to work for me. If I access to a journal website (for example, IEEE Xplore), I can see the icon of JabRef. After clicking the icon, it shows the message below, nothing is being imported in JabRef.
I've also checked the preference of JabRef in Advanced tab,
The details are as follows: JabRef 4.3.1 Windows 10 10.0 amd64 Java 1.8.0_172 JabFox 2.1.1
I tracked the log from Browser Console, and it seems to seek
zotero.js
but zotero is not installed in my laptop. You can find the details of the log from the following:Thanks in advance! If you need any information relevant, please let me know!
