Change default citation style in bibtex4word #8498

Dear all,

I am using JabRef as word AddIn and set up my personal citation style. The default citation style JabRef offers is ‘plain’. Therefore, in every word document, I change the citation style to my personal citation style (including all the style flags).

Is there a way to change the default ‘plain’ to the citation style of my choice, so I dont have to do it seperately for each and every document? I googled, but didnt retrieve anything useful. Sorry in case I just missed it. Either way, your help is very much appreciated.

If anything is unclear, feel free to ask. Thank you very much in advance. Best regards

This repository here is coordinating the development of a new word addin, which is not yet available for the general public. Thus moving this issue to the main JabRef repo.

My mistake! Thank you very much for moving the question.

I'm a bit confused i must say, so you are using the Export of JabRef to Microsoft Word XML? Or how do you go ahead?

Sorry, if it was unclear. The background is: I am using JabRef as my citation software. In the JabRef software, I manage my files. Since I am writing manuscripts and such in Microsoft Word, I installed JabRef as citation software and have it implemented in Microsoft Word as an AddIn. There one defines the citation style, which is displayed at the end of the document (default mode is 'plain'). And I prepared my own citation style, so that the literature list at the end is shorter - my citation style is called Filename/ncs2~.^,[ So, now, whenever I start a new document I go to the setting and change plain to Filename/... which is not too bad, but also kind of annoying after a while. Therefore, I wondered whether the default citation style 'plain' could be changed to 'Filename/...', so that when I start a new document - the citation style is already 'Filename/...'

I made a screenshot and hope that clears it up a bit. grafik

Tbh, I dont know what you mean by Jabref export or XML? I am using the usual Business-Version of MS Word, I dont think it's XML. So, sorry if I missed your question. Please feel free to ask further (I may not be the most tech savvy person, but Ill try my best :D)

Thank you so much. Cheers
