The only things I've added since testing it on Friday are:

to smooth out the pen lifting (tested on Tuesday lunch with the set_pen_position.py script, but I didn't draw anything with it),
to fix a bug in the stop_pwm() method

Alas, after merging master into #35 , the soft limits tests fail. I'm not sure whether this branch should be merged in before they are fixed. At least three of the problems are detailed in #133 .
