There should be some UI, probably lower on the character sheet. It should look similar to the Spells table such over on the Fogent Roleplay website, with different sections based on the "CL/Magic Resource" consumed field. So if a spell had 0 magic resource cost, it would be placed under the "Novice Spell (CL 0)" header.
Towards the bottom of the UI, there should be a input field where a spell can be searched for. There should also be an option to insert a "Custom Spell" Which will only live on their character sheet. This way people can add there own spells to there sheets.
Spells will also need to be added to SettingData so they can be stored on the database.
