If a time is not set for a ?mute, check with moderator first if they meant to leave the time empty #280

Currently if you issue a mute but don't add a time, it defaults to one hour. I've been using mute for a long time now, yet I still to this day forget the time and most often have to correct that by adding another mute to extend the previous mute.

Instead of defaulting to one hour, have OptiBot send some sort of confirmation message like "Did you mean to default to one hour?".

This please

er, with all due respect, if you don't specify a time, what else do you expect the bot to do? like how do you forget what the command does?

Jiingy commented 3 years ago

It's not really forgetting the command, but rather I (and maybe others) use warn far more often than mute, so I guess it's easy to get used to "?(command) (user) (reason)" completely forgetting the time. It is a bit of misuse of the command, but also I think it still would be good to have this safe guard just incase rather than defaulting to 1h

having some confirmation for the mute command in general might be a good idea
