Mouse not working through Thunderbolt monitor #91

I'm having an issue with a mouse connected through the USB hub on a LG Ultrawide monitor (connected via Thunderbolt). The mouse seems to get recognized by the OS, however it is completely unresponsive. When it is connected directly to a USB port on the laptop it works as expected.

Also, a keyboard that I have connected to the same monitor works fine through Thunderbolt, just the mouse seems to be an issue. Tried another mouse and that also did not work through the monitor.

Heres dmesg output when connecting the mouse directly to the laptop:

[ 1407.076318] usb 1-2: new full-speed USB device number 6 using xhci_hcd

The only difference I can spot is in the input: ... lines. Xorg seems to recognize the mouse in both scenarios.

Any ideas?

I'm sorry I have no ideas :(

New wireless mouse seems to work fine through the monitor, chalking this up to some kind of compatibility issue between the old mouse/monitor/hub and Linux. In any case, this isn't an issue specific to this respin as the same issue persisted on a fresh 19.04 install.
