You can make it run by simple increasing the maxVersion to 8.0.*

tried with changing the ini file
any chm I opened , it shows the following message. chmsee opened without
problem. But chm filie can't display.

Mammon slept. And the beast reborn spread over the earth and its numbers
grew legion. And they proclaimed the times and sacrificed crops unto the
fire, with the cunning of foxes. And they built a new world in their own
image as promised by the
sacred words, and spoke
of the beast with their children. Mammon awoke, and lo! it was
naught but a follower.

Yes, modify maxVersion in the application.ini file.

After that, you need `cd src; make clean; make; cd ..`, if it still cannot open
any chm file, clean "~/.chmsee" folder and lanch chmsee again.
