Initial UI layout sketch. Keeping it super simple and primarily focused on leaving real estate for the piano roll: https://photos.app.goo.gl/uN3fgV5FW5XdTkV37

Interesting. We're going to have to figure out a way to make it not look very busy. How can we make it look minimal while keeping a similar amount of information on the screen?

Hmm, how about something like this @mskalandunas? Just a really simple bar at the top with all your options for saving, etc., play/pause, and user profile info. Right now I'm thinking of just having one sound (maybe a piano) for the MVP of the product, but in the future if we want to expand and add more sounds and/or the ability to add more than one layer, then we'll have to include those in the options somehow (but we can cross that bridge when we get there).

@jacobpernell consider what we'd need for a mobile view. I'm thinking only play/pause or stop. Less on screen

JacobPernell commented 5 years ago

Yeah, that's a good thought. Though having undo/redo and save might be useful to have on screen at all times as well. I will post another sketch later (web and mobile), and tonight or tomorrow try to move onto digital mockups.
