beta testing #56

One of my "thustful" tester asked me if he could try the "morerealisticDLCs" mod. Do you think we should/could share the current "alpha" version of the mod to some people for extended test ? We also have to check that everything is ok when playing in mp (with or without a dedicated server)

Well one of my friends found this site through my user here on github. Jakob was not too happy about it, but was okay with it, when I told him that I had told my friend not to share the link or mod to anyone.

With that said, then yeah I don't mind as long he also don't share it with anyone else, until after the first release.

We are almost done with all the converting, so at this stage we actually needs people to test it, just as you said: Check mp (with or without a dedicated server).

I can ask our farming team (OEB to test it on a dedicated server), then I will not give them the link to github, just the mod.

But I cannot ask them without your permission, and I do not know if they are all willing to buy more DLC's to test.

Well I will suggest we will have to wait until Jakob comes back tomorrow (Saturday) and see what he have to say about it.

agree with Satis. Maybe it would be better to wait for all the DLCs being converted before "releasing" it to beta-testers. (to avoid many following updates if needed)

Here's my thinking: I'd say we finish up all the vehicles, then test them within the groub to a certain degree until we have what we could consider an RC1. And then give it to select outside testers. I'm against giving it to a whole group, as honestly I don't want to see it leaked anywhere.

Another thing, rather related to the release than to beta testing: as much as I think that Giants won't change the damping functions, I'd like to wait until patch 2.1.1 is final.

I would do the testing as follows: test the vehicles you want, and then create a new issue for each vehicle and state your opinion and findings (be it errors or confirmation of its awesome perfection). If somebody else has created an issue for said vehicle already, you should of course add to that one.

And at the end of the day we'll see what hasn't been tested yet and finish with those.

I will clean the vehicle list to resemble the test status.
