The last upload date is not set on a per album basis, so any photos taken prior to the last photo in any previous albums will not be uploaded.
There are two possible solutions to this, a) have a last upload date setting for each album, the single UI date field would have to update all of these values, or b) get all photos from all selected albums and order them by date and then upload them. I prefer b.
