There was a time when James thought we would scale the noise of visibilities, in an analogous fashion to how we used hyper galaxies in CCD imaging.
James decided to code up a lot of functionality to do this, even though it was highly unlikely we would ever use it.
James now thinks this code is complex and annoying, and years later has deleted the code fully in this PR, with it never having been used,
Theres a lesson here somewhere...
