I stumbled across Wavesurfer this morning and thought I'd share a similar project we've been working on in the HHMI Rieke lab for a few years: http://www.open-ephys.org/symphony/ . The goals and key features of the two systems seem comparable and we both support similar hardware (HEKA, Axon, National Instruments).
Maybe there's an opportunity to work together here? At the very least, knowing about each other's project will allow us to look at the ways we've approached common problems and hopefully result in better solutions!
