User: Would be better to plot the spikes in the raster plot as '.' rather than 'o'

Raster plots currently use diamond ('d') markers. There may have been some issue with '.' markers originally while 'o' was difficult to see as this user reported, so 'd' has been chosen. May be worth to look back at '.' and evaluate based on performance and appearance.
