What are you trying to do, and what do you expect to happen?
Hold down ALT to change to the colour picker temporarily, then switch to edit mode while ALT is still held down.
When you go back to paint mode, it should go back to the tool you had selected before holding down ALT.
What happens instead?
After switching back to paint mode, the colour picker is now fully enabled, and you have to manually switch back to the tool you had before.
