Client believes player is placing offhand item when using waygate key #6

Paper MC build 344 WuufusWaygates 1.2.1 (no other plugins enabled)

If the player's off hand contains a stack of a placeable item/block when using a waygate key, then the client will reduce the displayed count of the off hand item on each use of the key. If you pick up the stack from the off hand, the count returns to its actual value.

  1. Put a stack of torches in your off hand.
  2. With a waygate key in your main hand, "use" the waygate.
  3. Press escape to close the waygate GUI.
  4. The apparent count of the off hand item will be reduced by one.
  5. Open your inventory and click/pick up the stack of torches. It will return to it's original count.
