We are currently using a mix of workflows (for example see https://www.atlassian.com/git/tutorials/comparing-workflows). As this project is developed only by a few people having a forking-pull request workflow does not seem necessary. A simple feature branch workflow seems sufficiently complex, simpler changes could be directly committed to the main branch.
