4 years ago Afaik, the use of ped models would conflict with the way the current skin system is processed. It's been requested previously but can be problematic when people chose the same ped model etc. Great idea for a smaller whitelist community but with the vast player numbers highlife has right now there would be a lot of duplicates and could cause issues regardless of the code conflict. But believe me this is something I'd also love to have in highlife. Here's to hoping :)

Describe the feature you'd like GTA5 has a lot of NPC. They are all unique in the way they look and have different characteristics to them. This is something a good amount of other servers already use and that I think Highlife could benefit from. Right now we all got Danny's to choose from. Out of the 50ish faces, only a dozen of them is picked because the rest look like aliens. This results in the city having a good amount of lookalikes and it ruins the immersion. For me personally it makes the city look bland. I know you can dress the way you want to stand out, but I still dont think that is enough. What I am requesting is maybe adding the ability to pick NPC as playable characters because there are hundreds of them. Some people would pick the same ones, but there would be a smaller chance of them looking the same and you still have their ID to confirm their identity.
Some of the NPC only got a couple clothing options. For illegal stuff I think this can be fixed with outfits being like they are know. You can make a custom outfit and switch over to a Danny clean slate. Just hide your face with a mask and you are still in this character.
Having your own unique NPC character can help in giving your character a personality. Right now I am having a hard time connecting to the lifeless face of my Danny because of the way it looks and that I know 10 other people use it. I know some people already have created a good character of their own with the current system and I'm not trying to talk down on them, but for some of us this is a feature that would boost the roleplay. Adding a unique voice on top of it too would be easier.
Describe alternatives you've considered GTA Online character creation. I know Jarrrk have been working on this and while I do think it could be a solution, having all the unique body shapes and looks of the NPC is still something I would like to see in the city. Could also be a whitelist only feature.
