New Whitelist job: Fleeca Banking #1242

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. No

Describe the feature you'd like

I believe it would be really nice to add another Whitelist job called Fleeca Banking. This job not only controls the banks around the city, but will also be able to issue loans and receive debt. First of all, this job wouldn't kill the withdraw and deposit feature, that would still stay in place, how ever the account transfer feature would be a whitelist job feature. The first idea I would like to address is issuing loans. You might ask how does this work, well let me explain. Let's say you want to buy a car worth $300,000 but however you only have $250,000, you could ask the bank for a loan $50,000, which would put you -50,000. Now to balance this two measures would be in place, the first one being the loan would not be issued if the loan put you lower than -$100,000, and secondly is that can not take out a loan if you are in - in your bank. Now when will you be charged for the loan? We'll back to the theory point of view. You want to buy a new car worth 300k but you need an extra 50k well the bank would charge 20% of the loan every 24 hours from when the loan was issued. This gives you a bit of time to earn the money back and not go into minus figures. You might wonder why add this, why not be patient, we'll some good examples of this includes buying a new car or paying for a house in advance. This not only gives you an extra bit of realism but also D8 and any other jobs that include debts or payments (excluding fines). Now second point, DEBT. What do I mean by the feature debt? Let's give another example. You have a LSPD sanation of 100,000 and you don't want to be stuck in minus figures and not have any money to pay for insurance until you have paid off that debt? We'll similar to the loan feature, you can have a banker come down to LSPD and actually work out a rate that the fine eats at your bank account. The slowest percentage every 24hours being 10%. What happens if during this time the person who still owes debt goes into debt by buying a car or something? The debt would still continue into minus figures at the same rate as it was on positive figures.

Now, let's talk about how much bankers make. Fleeca Banking would be one of the best paid white list jobs despite being one of the hardest to be recruited in. Now this whitelist would be a little different to other whitelist jobs. Yes, you would still make x per 10 minutes how ever this would depend on how much has been deposited into the banks, prior to restart, this also includes people's payouts on things like G6 and other whitelists too. Let's say the server has been up for 5 hours and everyone together in that server has earned exactly $2,000,000 (including people that fly in and out too). Then it the payout per 10 minutes would be:

The amount racked up from after tsunami till this point in time of payout: (in this example $2,000,000)

Then divide that total by ÷600 ($3333) so far And this would be the payout every 10 mins. Think it's too much? We'll let me explain why it's not.

Let's say 128 people fly into the city, in this time span of 5 hours, that means in order to reach the total of 2million each person would of had to of earned $15,625 each. And seeing how many people chill per server this money wouldn't be that op. But the days when a McLaren gets sold, then the bankers start making lots of cash, but as I mentioned this will be the least recruited whitelist if it does get implemented. Now another cool payout thing is that if you have the banker whitelist instead of making $100 per 10 mins you make $200, another nice addition for bankers.

Let's talk robberies. Yes cracking the keypad would still be a thing, but here's when it gets interesting. If a banker is clocked on and chilling behind the desk in legion bank, (which would be a thing if it was added il explain later), then instead of having the crack the vault open you could force the banker to open it, and as an addition for the banker being in that same bank and opening via the vault control instead of the payout being like 100k dirty it would be 1.75x extra then if you cracked it. However it would be the cool down would also 1.75x extra too. And yes you would still to drill it open. Another good feature of this is it means the banker could be used as a hostage instead of the criminals having to get one prior to the Robbery. But here's the catch, bankers have a lockdown button (Panic button) by the front desk. This means if they suspect a group of individuals are about to rob the bank they are working in they can hit their lockdown button and the LSPD and EMS would be alerted as a active bank robbery. This would also prevent the criminals from getting the vault too as it would go on cool down straight away, but only for the normal time if the button is pressed not with the extra 1.75x. Bankers can only be robbed if 3 cops+ are on and the door will only open if 3+ are on. Anyone trying to rob it with less could get banned for breaking the robbery rules (and rules in general)

Bankers would also be a great way to implement more ways of rp and just add more opportunities. I could fully evaluate this more if the Devs are interested in this and give enough detail to make this an actual whitelist. As well as add other things and features to the idea. Before anyone says but loans and debts and this is pointless because you can still withdraw money and deposit without anyone there we'll here's the catch. If you go the route of not rping, whether a bank is on or not, there is a 5% withdraw fee and deposit fee too. However if you go through the deposit and withdraw route of a banker then you don't get any charge. (Could also add other things like this to give perks of having a banker clocked on and in the city)

Again this is an idea,.BUT I could fully evaluate it and it would be nice to see another whitelist job in the city and it would add other opportunities too. Any questions or concerns, please comment it.

Additional context You could clock on at any of the banks or deposit boxes in the city. Company cars are also not a thing for bankers.

-Exploitable if people take out loans and consolidate them to one person and never play again. -Banker robberies would be spammed. -Possible issues with how loan repayment is calculated especially if there is a server reset etc.

There used to be a banker role where you could invest money but it was scrapped as it essentially allowed people to produce ridiculous amounts of money by constantly investing. Basically living off of the interest and then some.

Loan sharking could be a cool idea but it's too easy to avoid in roleplay because you can rely on combat to kill off the loansharks etc.

Would require a lot of code in order to be totally fool proof i.e restrict any passing of cash / transfers to other players until debt is repaid in full. Includes transferring cars/property.

$200 for a whitelist job is far too low considering the training and work.

You could only take out a loan with 100Hours+ playtime Robberies here have a 8 hour cool down but it could be made longer, and the panic button prevents robberies too

You could increase the amount chargeback from a loan to prevent restart issues

$200 isnt the pay, it is passive pay. You know your unemployed amount is $100? Well as long as you have the whitelist for banker the passive income goes to $200 instead of $100

This section here tells you how much bankers make every 10 minutes based on whats happening in the server:

From a balancing standpoint adding an increase to passive pay when not clocked in doesn't make sense and isn't an incentive to clock in. Players shouldn't be rewarded just because they have a whitelist tag.

This is the same for the $3333. This is roughly around the amount that very high level police get and that is when they are clocked in actively roleplaying. Then you also have the issue of what if there are multiple bankers? You don't want all of that rp falling onto one person so then do all the bankers get 3333? Do they get it while clocked in or off? How is that then calculated. See the problem with this?

Even if there is a cool down for being able to rob a banker this would just be used as soon as the cooldown is off and how long do you think people will be clocked in as a banker? Whilst it would be a fun idea it's probably something left for smaller events rather than a dedicated whitelist role (for robberies specifically).

In summary, the function of the banker can be exploitable without foolproof code / a huge amount of work for those whitelisted. The figures are a balancing nightmare not to mention how much code would need to be added and finally robbing the banker would be spammed on cooldown if it isn't heavily restricted via a whitelist/event function which again gatekeeps server features from newer players which is to be avoided as much as possible.

I really like the idea but there are a lot of problematic factors that just prevent it from running smoothly if it's not treated as a huge undertaking.

We appreciate all the thought that went into this post, with all the great details as well, but Debt and Loans is definitely not something we are looking to get on this server for the time being.

Thank you again for the time put into this <3
