Criminal RP #1648

Describe the current reason for this balance request I will TRY to keep it simple and please note this is based on my own opinion and I'd like to voice it considering my activity the recent months.

Atm criminal RP is dis motivating. Its hard, lengthy and frustrating, you could spend an hour planning, taking hostages.. preparing and risking a considerable about of money/time/weapons/warrants to create a fun experience for both crims and police. and those who have an intent to roleplay really do suffer in the end and here is why:

Stores will be hit every 30 minutes, 90% of them are quick hit and runs - You can't even attempt get a hostage and find a store that hasn't been robbed before another one is robbed. Secondly, this really isn't worth the risk vs reward.

Commercials: This was a great introduction.. But yet again.. its mostly hit and runs... and those who will grab a hostage and have an intent to role-play with police are shoved again because there is no timer... no way to plan or keep a hostage long enough to know when to hit it, You'll have a bunch of people do it and jump in the water or hide in a corner somewhere or zoom of on a bati or carbon down the highway and those are the ones rewarded. Not those want a chase... a shootout... an enjoyable time. Not those who plan and risk it for the roleplay.

Drugs: One of the best changes to drugs was the most recent one and I couldn't be happier. But.. up the price. Give us more. It takes a while to sell drugs not to mention the risk and the scarcity of locals sometimes.

Banks: They are great fun but you rely on chip dealers who either are out of chips, or are resupplying, or have halted selling them for other issues. Nothing to argue here for me though, I'm sure its like this for a reason. But if you where to loosen it .. would it be so bad? Would treating banks the same way as store robberies be so bad nowadays? Not saying get rid of the tools needed but.. make the tools more available? You have a large police force who nowadays would probably be able to handle 2 or 3 bank jobs simultaneously at given times.

You have a growing server with a growing police force, but even as police responding its... kind of boring dealing criminal activity. Dealing with dannys who shoot at police and might break a rule or two is more exciting than most of the available criminal activities for us to deal with.

Describe the solution you'd like Although I feel like I could type forever, I will keep this short and sweet

Stores: Slow the collection timer down and up the value to 20k. More time for police to respond and more money if crims choose to stay to collect more.

Commercials: Just give other groups a chance to do them via a way of knowing when the last one was hit, the way it is with stores/banks. this way you can learn the timers and atleast plan it properly without wasting a bunch of time only to drop the hostage off and go to the airport after being dis-motivated.

Drugs: Give us more across the board, at least 20%

Banks: keep the chip system but maybe drop them from commercials too? and also maybe Local dealers who 'appear' in certain areas for a certain amount of time, who will sell you a chip when you walk up to them for x amount. Relying on player dealers is meh sometimes, although I see why it might be needed.

Additional context just wanted my opinions voiced. I will accompany this with saying I will take no offence to this whole sheet being closed/discarded.

Stores aren't intended to be a lengthy hostage negotiation they are smash and grabs.

Banks being reliant on chips as is the current scenario puts a little more focus on planning and not just treating it as a spammable affair. Also means it requires a bit more roleplay so it prevents every danny attempting to rob a bank as soon as they join a server which would also mean a group waiting that have laid out a decent plan etc aren't left waiting. Multiple bank robberies at once would be a logistical pain in the ass and also could be exploited / abused.

Criminal roleplay on the whole is what you make of it, if the purpose is to money grind then you are losing out on a lot of the actual roleplay. Setting up meets, betrayal, forming alliances, guarding turf, scheming money making propositions is what makes criminal roleplay fun in the long term.

Drugs isn't as simple as suggesting a percentage increase as it is multi faceted but as referred to above it's being looked at by the balancing team at the moment.

There are issues with supply for certain in game items and I cannot comment on this as I'm not fully aware of the situation but again the supply isn't necessarily there to fully meet the demand and as with bank robbery comment above it puts focus on roleplay interaction and planning.

Funny, that's what I live by myself, and try to tell others as well. I have done and do practice what I preach. I am simply referring to the criminal RP features offered by the server itself.

If you ask anyone who knows me, I couldn't care less about money, and would gamble all the money I make from PD at any given time, its something of no relevance here. My opinions on increased payouts was just based on math and my time here and my own thoughts. I'm sure the devs have more data than I do.

I get that, I really do.. An introduction/small time robbery. you defo don't need a hostage, but its very fun sometimes, helps teach cadets ect. But you defending the fact it should simply stay as a 'smash and grab', part of me thinks whats the point then? Yeah you get 10k and escaped... now what? Its a wasted feature that can be a tad more satisfying in some way imo. I think ATM's that you can hit for 3k would be the perfect starter point rather than stores. And would definitely hit a small void in the PD. stores just feel a little more middle-ground to me.

By you I mean a player didn't mean it to come across as a personal direction my bad. If you wish to make a store robbery a longer scenario with hostages you are welcome to just bare in mind the feature is intended to be an easy accessible activity thus people hitting it on cool down isn't unlikely to happen. You can get the type of interaction you want from a bank robbery just bare in mind supply might limit your ability to do it spontaneously, but that's just part of the "planning" etc. Reducing / removing store robbery time limits would mean it'd be a bit too spammable, also increasing payout IMO would encourage this spam on cooldown which also gets in the way of what you are looking for. Appreciate the feedback btw more than happy to discuss more

Its fine lol. I don't post often nor care too much about the result of my feedback usually as I tend to keep server-related opinions to myself, Because most of the time there are just too many factors to consider ... IC things, OOC things, game mechanics... coding... players.. roleplay... rules... economy.. balance... maths.. ect.

That's not to say that your points aren't valid however. I'm just giving the view from a different angle. Just want to make sure you don't think your feedback falls on deaf ears :)
