Removal of Z Names #325

Describe the current reason for this balance request Meta gaming is a huge issue with people and there are so many instances where people are using 'Z' to identify people. The only thing I would imagine people needing Z for is to see the services available at the very most. I am hoping that F1 reporting wouldnt require a steam name as unique ID #s are unique to each connection/steam names. If steam names are crucial for F1 reporting then disregard and close this balance request.

Describe the solution you'd like Would like names to be hidden other than mods so people can see if there are mods on (or a way to just identify mods in server). F1 reporting would only need the ID # since that # is tied to an individual once and cant be reused.

Additional context 2 clips I found pretty easily of people using 'Z' when they don't need to be. https://clips.twitch.tv/SpinelessVibrantEmuDatBoi https://plays.tv/video/5cd74236081672f190/freaky

Honestly just having the number above peoples head is enough to get a report off if someone is breaking the rules. Taking away the names off the Z list would be great, and make for less shitty RP from people that constantly metagame using Z to find people.

From what i was thinking, maybe keeping the ID just removing the steam names for an example Player1 Player2 Player3

There is a whitelisted server and one of the main attractions of the server is no overhead ID's.

But for the public servers that isnt a thing and reporting tool is essential with the new people that join. Hard to report someone without their ID #

My biggest concern regarding this feedback is staff logs. Not entirely sure if logs just show steam names and how easy it is to look someone up based on their ID # in a specific server. This might be an inconvenience for moderation through logs (if it's what I'm thinking it is) but overall increase in the QoL with respect to roleplay.

Simple number ID + Steam ID in the list for easier bans maybe ? The Steam account could still be found by the players using Steam ID but still..

I wonder how the logs are written, if when a player logs in to the servers and his Steam ID + in-game number is showing up, no needs to add the Steam ID for the "normal" players and just keep simple ID number.

I was somewhat on-board with this idea at first but really isn't feasible, like you pointed out, @SteezyRen, the amount of logging changes and general staff issues this would cause is really not worth the hassle.
