Own a truck for RS and RON? #336

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. [A clear and concise description of what the problem is. Remove this line!]

Describe the feature you'd like I would like to be able to buy my own truck so that you can modify it and paint it as you like, so that those who choose to work on RS and RON do not actually have to drive the same truck and that you can take the truck to and from job. In this way you also get rid of those who run like idiots on the roads and break the trucks when you have to repair your truck yourself. Now that you have removed the salary from the truck job, you can now RP more if you also have your own truck and the problem disappears with trucks that do not spawn in. Without now you have to start working with one of the other jobs until you can afford to buy a truck and then make RS and RON deliveries. And that one could have the alternative to having maybe 10, 20, 30 deliveries instead of just 10 as it is now on RS for level 5, Payment from making 10 deliveries is neither good nor bad but lies around what I think is completely okay payment for 10 deliveries. If you drive a legally and follow the traffic rules, it takes between 45-60 minutes to make a full delivery trip. You can also put in import trucks if you want to get more variations of trucks in the city, of course the economy will be affected by this when not all new citizens can start by driving a truck and earn 10k on each shift. Of course, the inport trucks should be more expensive than those already in the city. Because as it looks today, everyone pulls to RON and only drives around until they have a bank account of around 100k and a car, after that they search out to do the more illegal jobs, Think that RPn can be improved on they actually have to do more jobs that are city-center oriented and not truck jobs as most of them are outside the city.

Would be cool to have for the pizza delivery as well but only allow people to take the jobs with a compact car.

I don't think the mechanics will be happy when RON tries to squeeze in their shop.

Interesting idea but how often in real life do you buy your own truck, decorate it then use it for work? The realism aspect is pretty far fetched.

Actually that's exactly what most haulers do - They buy their own truck and contract themselves out. Those that work purely for a company will be assigned their own truck and will share it with one to two other people at the most.

And same for pizza delivery - some are allowed to use the work scooters or car but the majority use their own vehicle

Pizza delivery I get, but RON is still far fetched. I'd avoid RON.

Not sure if it's a country thing but here (UK) they're the same trucks - the only difference is the obviously the trailer. You do need a special license to haul flammable liquid (think it also covers toxic, chemical, and waste).

Actually you'll be suprised, as a Lorry driver (trucker) for a lot of us our cab unit become a second home, there is truck shows in which companies take pride in showing off their cool and awesome cab units and making it feel unique to them and showing off, so in this case it would be just that.

You are correct, the licence you are referring to is ADR, there is different levels but ADR covers most of it.

I think certain jobs, such as GoPostal and PizzaThis... can benefit from this idea but being able to own trucks is slightly problematic with how trailers work.
