biased and powergaming experiences with the server standard #538

Describe the current reason for this balance request in the current standard of the sever Admins + staff make decisions purely on there interpretation of written rules that do not always reflect the words. I am not here to complain about the decisions or results of the staff. The main issue i see on this sever atm besides content problems is that the staff are able to perform duties like being a cop or being apart of a white list gang. This is a massive conflict of interest as multiple people have been and are complaining about this yet there has never been any formal or cognitive response. when the staff are able to perform roles like this it turns the situation into a biased conflicted rp scenario. if your respective admin is playing a cop on the server and disagrees with your rp although it may be not breaking the rules they have the power to kick/ban/warn/timeout/add connotations to your username. never in any place irl would you get into a situation with a cop and then turn around to find out they are the judge jury and executioner to your case. i cant tell you how many times i personally and almost everyone i know has experienced and complained about this. another situation is you get into beef with a gang something happens they run and tell there respective admin about the issue. you go to staff waiting room and who would of known that's the admin your dealing with. now this admin has heard a story from there own friends and gang members no matter the result of the case, that admin has started that situation biased and conflicted right out the gate. no matter if they say they aren't or have banned there own guys its a non argument. irl would be a conflict of interest and would never happen.

Describe the solution you'd like admins and staff should be choosing other non impacting roles like ems taxi club owners like bloomb. should not be allowed to partake in situations like gangs/cops. creates and unfair biased environment.

Additional context can almost guarantee if a pole was created it would be almost unanimous that vaaaaast majority of people agree with everything i've said here.

You're basically saying because staff are staff, they're not allowed to RP how they like. GL with that.

You realise the staff aren't paid and are also players just like you...

Don't break the rules is kinda simple. Maybe you want more clarification of the rules and more specific examples of how the rules apply to different situations?

I've never RPed with a staff member and been banned or had to go to waiting for staff afterwards because I play by the rules, it's effective and makes this a non-issue.

Don't get me wrong, nobody is perfect and I may end up having to deal with one of them in the future myself (who knows?) but if you feel you're being dealt with unfairly then simply ask to speak to a different administrator.

They already sacrifice their time to help the community so why shouldn't they be allowed to play roles they enjoy when they do get some free time from having to support everyone else? Just my 2 cents anyway.

i always follow rules and stream my game play hence why i've never been banned or warned. there are plently of admins and staff who dont partake in whitelist gangs or cops. should be an easy choice to as whats more important to them. plenty of people would be willing to be a staff or admin who are not involved in these activities

I play very little on the servers at this current time and I really wish I had more time, what you’re explaining is staff should basically not be able to play at all and solely moderate the server.

All staff have once been players, all staff have received recognition for their efforts in this community and are chosen because of their personality, attitude towards dealing with situations and following out staff ethics of how to deal with a situation, don’t like how you’ve been treated or you think it’s ‘wrong’? Then contact someone higher, I maybe have seen bias from staff but you’re acting as if there’s no regulation or limit on what staff are able to do.

What you’ve described is one of the worst suggestions to ever come into this issue tracker, not only because it’s not related to an in-game issue but because it’s targeting people that have been here, a few from the very beginning and helped the server become both what it is today and what it will be in the future. The fact that some are also head or high up in jobs is because they have put the effort in, effort that no one else has ever bothered to or not anywhere near to the same degree.

I have very little time and personally love roleplaying with people whether they know it’s me or not, but to limit staff to what you’ve described we might as well make staff have a unique character model that blares the word ‘MOD’ or ‘ADMIN’ on the back of their character.

I love playing as a cop and wouldn’t want to work on my own server if I couldn’t even play it for the reasons I made it, much like other staff, their whitelist department roles reflect what people enjoy doing and removing this because you’ve seen the hard shoulder doesn’t justify in the slightest what you’re encouraging to be changed.

You can have 3 thumbs up on your suggestion, but that doesn’t mean 8000 people, or staff, or myself agree.

It doesn't look like he is saying Admins shouldn't play, its like whats the term?.....impartial. Like you cant have someone checking times who also is running the race because you can never be sure of fairness.
