OP Vehicles #689

Describe the current reason for this balance request Just seen that you have removed the Police BMW Moto and even though it was OP it was our only hope against cars that have insane handling compared to the rest of the cars in the server. Not saying that we should be able to catch every single car we get into a chase with but some vehicles are able to impossible to keep up with, regardless of the drivers skill.

Describe the solution you'd like To be able to keep the BMW in service with more realistic handling but also to have a couple of other vehicles tweaked as well. The Harley is more of a show vehicle for parades and such, not a pursuit vehicle.

Additional context I’m not saying our PD vehicles should be able to keep up with these expensive sports cars but a couple lower tier cars are just ridiculous.

S500 has insane handling, bullet resistant windows and also is a tank (takes a lot to break) - also drives the same on its rims as it does with tyres.

Bentayga has also got insane handling and is a tank in regards to damages.

If you get the chance, have a go in an S500 as I know you don’t get to try all of the vehicles but you’ll see where I, and a few others, are coming from. It’s like when you test drove the SSTI back in the day and that was altered immediately.

If anyone has any other vehicles that have ridiculous handling put them below as I can only think of the Merc and the Bentley at the minute.

If need be, the simplest way to keep the BMW in service, would be to have it pull the handling from the CBR and use that. Just needs to have the "Sanchez" seating position/camera position, cant remember what it was called exactly.

Right now most people have 'starter cars' - there's no chance for the average person to even possibly get away in an active chase if the bike is out, that's the main reason it was removed.

I understand what you're saying but understand the bike is available for PD to use all the time, even more so now the PD runs on fairy dust and doesn't have to take into consideration funds. The two problem vehicles you've listed are a) expensive and b) pretty rarely owned - given the current stage of the economy it's not like they're common and causing PD problems every 10 minutes.

The bike has had significant issues for a long time, both balancing & visual issues with little change made, and at this time it's too damaging to criminal RP. In time, other problem vehicles will be resolved.

@ZeroInsomniac you can't just copy&paste other vehicles' handling onto another and hey-presto it's a 'fix', it doesn't work like that, vehicles handling isn't just based on numbers, it's based on how the model is setup/configured, the relevant 'bone' positions also dictate handling specifics. This approach is most likely why it's broken in the first place.

Fully understand what you’re saying and in regards to people legit just chilling on the MOTO just because it’s so easy to drive and abusing it has been addressed in PD and people have been told it’s a situational vehicle not a toy. The bike could keep up with a P1 if it wanted too which shouldn’t be the case what so ever and everyone who was moto trained knew it was pretty unfair.

The bike needed to be dealt with as if it had the right rider then it would be near impossible to lose a suspect. If it would be possible to get it tweaked by someone on the staff team with vehicle meta knowledge and put back on our vehicle roster then it would be appreciated. I’m not looking for super OP, I’m looking for a sportier bike available to use in situations where needed.

PD should not be catching every car and some people need to realise that.

I’ll close this topic off for now as we’ll live without the BMW for now and I know handling files aren’t just change a couple numbers here and there and it’s fixed. I assume that all relevant vehicles will be altered when necessary but just wanted to get a few points across and hopefully the right people see this.

PD should not be catching every car and some people need to realise that.

Completely agree, that mentality is what's a little sad about the current state of PD, nothing is long-term, it's a 'in the moment' kind-of thing, they want it there and then. PD should be pursuing vehicles to an extent in which it's feasible and realistic, chases should be called off after the 4th police car in the line has wrecked for the third time, maybe a over-exaggerated statement but lets face it, it's not far off.

To add to the prior, PD should also think about the longevity of RP, being able to actually build cases on people, make certain names well known. I feel like the department has lost what the intention of HighLife is, roleplay, not cops v crooks.

In short, you can't catch them all, sometimes it's okay to lose and let someone go.
