2 Player Input Problems #533

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
1.Get a friend to play with
2.Load up Mortal Kombat 2, Street Fighter 2 or something similar.
3.Play a few matches, then let your friend join in...

If you play the game alone, then against a friend that joins in, you'll notice
that the controls get screwed up.

It feels like the emulator does not accept input from both controllers at the
same time.

This does not occur on snes9x on windows unless both players are using the same
outdated ps2 keyboard :P

I use the Wii version, latest official build, from download section at this
site.

Hello Tantric, sorry for the delay. In short, I was unable to reproduce this
issue.

Since the defect description was far from complete (he doesn't specify wii menu
version, snes9xgx version, ioses installed nor if this issue is happening when
using wiimotes, classic or GC controllers), I performed several test
combinations.

My testings included all combinations between the following:

1) Snes9x GX v4.2.0 and Snes9x GX v4.2.1
2) 2 Wiimotes
3) 2 Classic controllers
4) 1 Wiimote and 1 Classic controller
5) Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat II, Super Street Fighter II

My setup:

Wii NTSC/U running on System 4.2U, HBC 1.06, IOS 202 1.1 installed

I can surely say that no such issue was presented during my tests. Both
controllers worked properly all the time.

However, I found a post by one of the wiibrew.org forums moderators (Mestizo)
which mentions something I found awkward, however he doesn't give any further
details:

http://forum.wiibrew.org/read.php?17,53648,53648

We might get a better chance if the user could provide more details.

I also found something funny during testing. I don't know if classify it as a
bug or not: When the classic controller is connected and you are in the roms
list, if you press a d-pad direction in the wiimote, the highlighted bar moves
and the rom is launched.

Thanks a lot for all your hard work.

Haven't played much in lately, but I'll explain how my wii was set up when it
was noticed.

We used a Classic Controller connected to a wiimote as first player, and only a
wiimote as the second player. And it was easily noticed in Mortal Kombat II.

Wii System Menu 4.2

cIOS:
Waninkoko: 249 r17
Hermes: IOS222 (base IOS38 merge IOS37), IOS223 (base IOS38), IOS202 (base
IOS38 merged with 60)

Snes9xGX: 4.1.9 (on a standard 2GB SD Card) (sd:apps/snes9xgx/boot.dol)

Roms loaded from fat32 on usb hdd. (usb:EMU/Snes/Roms/Mortal Kombar II
(PAL).smc)

I don't experience the issue, and I'm sorry but in order to test I'm not
installing Waninkoko's crap nor any cIOS from Hermes since I'm not on piracy.
