Easily address a large group, rather than having to type out multiple names
Ex: Primary Billets- @C/1/A/1-7 - tag all members of C/1/A/1-7, @2/B/1-7 would tag all members of 2nd Platoon, Bravo Company, 1st Batt, etc...; Secondary Billets- @DI - Tag all Drill Instructors, @S1/Milpacs - alerts all S1/Milpacs clerks, etc...
