Assignment #3 - How far can your FOV go? #3

Open Jashcraf opened 4 years ago

Jashcraf commented 4 years ago

Increment the FOV and optimize both the obscured & unobscured designs, I'm going to see how long it takes to get a spot that is twice the diffraction limit

Jashcraf commented 4 years ago

On-Axis Obscured (OAO)

FOV = [0,0.21,0.3] image

FOV = [0,0.28,0.4] image

The RMS radius of the edge FOV has now doubled the airy disk size

Jashcraf commented 4 years ago

0.2, 0.3, 0.4 HFOV for both #1 and #2

As expected the plot above functionally proved the opposite of what physics would have us believe!

The problem lies in the intermediate optimization of the designs - this shows how stable a given design form is, rather than being an analysis of the design itself.
