[ISSUE] Possible Conflict Between WebApp, Chrome & Roku TV #158

Open GitMojo opened 5 years ago

GitMojo commented 5 years ago

sup Jason, 2nd issue:

i still have some weird kind of conflict going on where the jqbx individual rooms on PC through Google Chrome (with or without* audio playing and i think even just the "rooms" page with no audio playing) makes my monitors go haywire. it's really strange. i think that it is something between jukebox, chrome, spotify and roku on my tv's.

(and don't say to get rid of roku because i have a lot of roku stock and love the format, lol)

some things i've tried:

it's perplexing. lol.

Been fighting my PC for the last couple of hours. Aggravated! Lol.

For some reason the JQBX WebApp in Google Chrome does not see my Spotify app on windows, and the Spotify App on windows doesn't see the browser player, so i can't sync the two. it just started that today. so annoying.

plus, i still have the issue where my tv's (despite having every interactive feature turned off) go crazy when i open the jqbx website. it's like the roku is trying to recommend something to me based on what i'm listening too, but it can't, so it just goes to noise on the monitor.

i restored my tv settings to factory and then turned everything off that would potentially popup while i'm using the computer, but every time i go to jqbx, it does this.

it's been one of those days, man. tech issues all day long. plus, my spaz cat, shadow, decided to spaz out and jump across my keyboard all crazy like and broke off my zero key from the number pad.

ahhhhh!!!! lol

i tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Google Chrome and Spotify many times now today, but they still refuse to be friends!

Ah, sorry about the issues! Has JQBX ever worked on your Roku setup? Let me know and I'll try to think of some things to test out.

Hey Jason,

Thanks for writing. Sorry I unloaded all my stress yesterday. It was just one of those days where to try to fix something and 10 other problems come up.

The thing with the Roku: yes, the problem with Roku and JQBX just started about a month or maybe 2 months ago. Everything was working fine since I joined in July up until then. I don't know if you still have the video links I sent to you, but that's still what it does.

Roku has a feature where while you're browsing say Amazon Prime, a bar will come up at the bottom of the screen saying "other ways to watch" and it will go away after a minute or so. It seems like it is trying to do that while I'm on my PC. However, I know the exact setting for this feature on the TVs and have it disabled. Yet it seems to still try anyway. I went through the settings very thoroughly multiple times since this began and disabled everything that would possibly interact with the PC including not plugging into the ARC HDMI ports, but it still does it. Idk. Lol.

The newest problem that just started yesterday that you may be able to help with is that all of the sudden my Windows Spotify App and my JQBX WebApp don't see one another as devices. I can't choose to use the PC as my device from the WebApp because it just doesn't show up as an option. At the same time, I can't choose the WebApp within the Spotify Windows app because it just doesn't show that. So in the end, I'm unable to sync my Spotify with my WebApp in Google Chrome. Now, if I run Spotify on my phone at the same time, the windows app will find that and give me the option to use the PC or the phone, but not the Chrome web browser for whatever reason.

For now, I just play JQBX thru Chrome without it being synced, but for some reason the Chrome browser is extremely loud compared to everything else on my PC, so I have to go into the volume mixer and turn the volume of Chrome down to like 1 or 2 to keep it from blasting me out. It's all crazy! haha.

Anyway, let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks,

Nathan

Hey, this unrelated to the last message, but have you ever seen this bot for Discord? https://discordbots.org/bot/groovy It has a lot of features similar to JQBX. It could possibly be a good starting point for combining the two apps.
