If you add a bottom (or top) bar to act as a menu/header/footer, it doesn't stick directly on the top/bottom on newer iPhones with rounded edges. It leaves a couple pixels of space between the top of the phone screen & header. Content passes through and shows above the header when you scroll down. Also, the bottom tab bar shifts up when you scroll down as much as your page height allows.
