Hi Javier,

I'm the HCTP translator for German on Babelzilla. A question: Will HCTP available as WebExtension? I ask because if not, it isn't worth translating HCTP anymore.

What do you want to say with this answer? Will HCTP be available as WebExtension or not?

yfdyh000 commented 7 years ago

No.

There is no plan to support XUL or theming or changes to the UI beyond some basic CSS changes similar to Chrome.

Hi All! I've posted a new thread #354 about this and the future alternatives that We have!:

In short: This addon (HCTP) WON'T DIE in any case! I'll for sure continue to use and update it! ... About Fx future changes: the ditching of XUL is not a real problem, It's just a technology change, and of course the new WebExtension tech. are very welcomed! The problem is created by the (announced at least for the time being) policy to just end support for fully enhancing Fx UI & UEx announced from Fx57+. So, HCTP will be available as a WebExtension if and when full UI enhancement support is back after Fx 57!, but again, HCTP will be maintained and updated anyway! See original post for more details ...

So, all translations will continue to be very welcomed! Please let me know if any doubts about this. Thanks a lot!

Hi milupo,

Thanks for your current translation. And don't worry, any future decision you make will be okay. One suggestion: giving higher priority to the untranslated short strings and leaving the longer ones (ie for tooltips) at the end. Thanks!

Fine, Javier. Thank you for your information and your tip.

Why not list the extension on the Pale Moon site? Pale Moon is continuing full support for the existing base of extension technologies (XUL, etc.), sans Jetpack. Besides, it really is becoming a significantly better browser than Firefox, at least IMO.
