Login abnormalities

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Configure authentication to use local authentication.  Log in succeeds, but 
elsa keeps asking for authentication every couple of seconds to keep the page 
active. 

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Latest as of 2/8/2013, Centos

Please provide any additional information below.

Local authentication has been deprecated as too many Perl versions had faulty 
PAM modules.  You will need to switch to a different form of auth, like the db 
auth.

After some changes to the Web.psgi and User.pm located in elsa/web/lib/, files 
attached, local authentication worked.
