Droid Pro compatibility issue. #620

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.install as directed
2.activate softkeyboard as directed
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Softkeyboard should appear when device is in landscape orientation and input
mode is active However, softtkeyboard does not appear. Others have posted
similar results for all of the softkeyboards available. I believe the issue is
that the device always registers as having the hard keyboard active (since it
is) and therefore all the softkeyboards do not activate.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Anysoftkeyboard v33 (from yesterday, tried with earlier versions as well) and
droid 2.2.1.

Please provide any additional information below:
Note: If you think this is a device related issue, include the report
output from the Device Information application (http://softkeyboard.googlec
ode.com/svn/DeviceInformationDisplay/bin/DeviceInformationDisplay.apk)
Note: If you encountered an application error, include the logcat report
which can be retrieved from the LogCollector (http://android-log-
collector.googlecode.com/files/android-log-collector-1.0.0.apk)

Mmm the physical keyboard is always visible?

Yes;, the droid pro from Verizon has a keyboard like the blackberries. It's
always there, it doesn't slide in and out; and when in landscape mode with the
stock softkeybosrd on screen, the keys on the hard keyboard still work.

It seems the opposite of my change, I hide the keyboard and this issue is
talking about showing it.

In G1, the "values-keyssoft" is *active* when the keyboard is not exposed, and
"values-keyssoft" is *disabled* when the keyboard is exposed. There is
"values-qwerty" always, and "values-nokeys" is disabled

In Nexus One: "values-keyssoft" is *active*, "values-qwerty" is disabled and
"values-nokeys" is enabled.
