Scale pop-up keys on split keyboard

When I'm using horizontal split keyboard (on Galaxy tab 10.1) and want to type 
the ' ; ' sign for example, I must hit the dot button (with my right thumb) and 
then to slide to the middle of the screen ,which on 10" screen is a lot of 
stretch. This somehow make the split keyboard not such comfortable.

Can you make those pop-up keys more scaled, depending of the type of the 
keyboard (the split one in this case)

Semi-related note: it'd be nice for the first item in the popup to be the 
default "selected" one. For example, when I long-press the . key, I would 
expect the ; key to be the default selected because it's first in the list (and 
is thus supposed to be more "important"). This would also be helpful for 
alphabetic long-press keys where the top row might have a number followed by 
the accented characters, if (as in English), the number is more likely to be 
chosen.
