Suggestions interfere with address input in CycleStreets app #971

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download an install
http://www.jezuk.co.uk/cyclestreets/jezhiggins/CycleStreets-latest.apk
2. Open the app press menu -> Plan a route
3. Enter UK post codes in start and end points, i.e. EC2A 4HJ and W2 5UH (with
space)
4. Click Find Route

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

The app should find a route, but instead it shows suggestions for new location
because ASK is doing something with inputs. If I turn off Show suggestions
option in ASK settings, it works fine.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

ASK: 20120507 (release 71)
Android: 2.3.7 (CyanogenMod 7.2.0 RC1)

Please provide any additional information below:

That's totally weird. I'll try resetting both apps and repeating the test.

I think you just helped me to find a workaround :) But the issue is still there
:(

When you type in the postcode, way for dropdown to appear, saying "UK postcode"
(can't take screanshot because it makes dropdown disappear).

Click on the value in dropdown and then do the lookup.

I see that now.

I wonder why it does that...

Looks like it's trying to do an auto-suggest on separate letters of the
postcode.

Looks like I might have rejoiced a little too early. After restarting the
phone, ASK keeps crashing. See the attached logs.
