Audio Jack not working #200

This issue is badly written. Are you using the official dongle? otherwise the audio jack is not yet supported. If you are using the dongle you should provide some additional debug and setup information for this to be helpful in any way.

NeonStreak commented 7 years ago

Same issue, I do not own the official dongle, however, I mostly use USB connection for the controller. Another note, I did manage to get it working temporarily before I even installed DS4Windows but it shortly quit. Hope this helps!

NeonStreak commented 7 years ago

I just managed to get it to work again for a while then it quit again. Weird.

NeonStreak commented 7 years ago

Maybe I have an audio driver conflict

NeonStreak commented 7 years ago

Ok so it just decides to work whenever, but it seems (stressing the seems here), that whenever the controller rumbles the audio quits

I have confirmed by using the ds4windows rumble test that it makes audio cut out on USB (not sure if it is limited to my case or not). I'm not sure if this is important, but I disabled "allow exclusive control" in the audio device properties. As of now I have found kind of a work around: Change the master volume level on your computer. If that doesn't work (it does work consistently for me) then try disabling and enabling the audio device. Now this is a problem for us who are in the middle of a game. I believe there is a relation between rumble and the audio which maybe someone of a little more expertise than I can look into. For now it would be nice if there was a toggle to prevent the rumble signal from being sent to the controller as I don't believe (correct me if I'm wrong) setting rumble to 0% does this (This might mean nothing if rumble is somehow sent to the original controller by Windows itself). I haven't messed around with trying to get the mic to work yet although I have seen it respond before.

As you can probably tell, my computer knowledge is limited, but I do what I can. Please correct me on anything.

I am running Windows 10 64-bit on an old HP Pavilion g6 laptop (product #:C5U62UA#ABL)

do you get audio via usb (or bluetooth) without using Sony's dongle? I could be wrong, but I don't think ds4windows has that feature yet.

NeonStreak commented 7 years ago

I get USB audio, not Bluetooth. It isn't through ds4windows though, I'm just using the wireless controller device for that

Also another sidenote, colour changes will mute audio too, just change the master volume to fix that.

NeonStreak commented 7 years ago

By wireless controller, I was referring to the device name in windows

NeonStreak commented 7 years ago

The only thing that works as of now is the jack, not the speaker

rafasc commented 7 years ago

You have a "wireless controller" on your audio device list? How did you got that? As far as I know audio is a bluetooth exclusive feature. How did you got that working? You just plugged usb and the audio device appeared?

I can confirm NeonStreaks observation: Audio playback works until rumble is used (either by testing it in DS4Windows or by some application that uses it (a game in my case) ), then it's cut off. Changing the volume brought it back. I am using the Wireless Adaptor on Windows 10 1607. As a side note: Using the audio fix by ondr3j (https://github.com/ondr3j/DS4Windows/releases) fixes the basic issue, though there is some stuttering while the volume level is changed, like the actual volume is switching back and forth.

So I am kinda confused. Is audio working wireless with the use of the official sony ds4 dongle or not? Can I listen to gaming audio from the jack port or not ? Btw if yes is the quality good or not ?

I need to know asap please.

Same question if anyone knows if it is working in linux ?
