audio doesn't work when ds4 is plugged #302

Hi,

I'm having this issue that when i use DS4windows I don't have any audio even when connect a headphone to the controller, i'm not having this issue when i don't use the app so it's not the controller. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi there,

To make it work, and still use DS4Windows, you have to edit profile and check use Dinput only.

I tried it but still having the same problem as soon as i open ds4windows i lose sound.

The way I do it, is:

  1. open ds4windows at startup (have a profile that uses directinput only)
  2. Connect controller, this already gives me access to mousepad.
  3. Open steam, and it recognizes my controller and audio works fine from headphones.
  4. If i dont use directimput, ds4windows has a bug in which sound is muted as soon as controller vibrates.

In case you still haven't figured it out and still care:

The issue lies in 2016 DS4 controllers and not DS4Windows. When connecting via USB winows automatically switches to the DS4 headphone jack as you audio output device. Once the controller is plugged in simply click on the volume icon on your taskbar and select your normal speakers in the dropdown menu above the volume bar.

Feels like I'm the only one with this dilemma, but I have the opposite problem. I use my DS4 controller wired into my computer and have my headset directly connected through the controller to get my audio. When I connect to DS4Windows my audio actually stops playing through the controller even though the device is still set to it. As with many things it seems, the problem is only when I try using DS4Windows.

i have this issue, only it works fine with it being wired. but i dont want to have to use it wired. anyways i can use this new ps4 controller through DS4 windows with my headset via bluetooth??

Honestly, i don't use ds4windows anymore and I haven't had a single issue. I think windows made drivers that recognize ds4 as a xbox controller.

So when I use my headset/mic plugged into my controller and my controller is plugged into my pc, when I run the ds4 windows app I lose all audio. I have tried all of the steps above but nothing works still. Please help me because the app is so useful!!!!!

I have the same problem. The sound works normally but once ds4windows is turned on it breaks off And it works for three seconds, every time you turn the sound up or down. 3 sencond only

I have the same problem but then someone said "the sound doesnt work if the controller vibrate" then i try to lower the vibration to 0 and it works. The vibration settings is the rumble setting
