I've had the same question for several months now:
http://code.google.com/p/jsgantt/issues/detail?id=85#c0
Just by the lack of responses, I'd say the answer is "yes". Is there a formal
process for taking over orphaned projects? I'd like to see someone continue
development. I have some changes of my own that I'd like to contribute back,
but I don't have time to spearhead a whole project.

Guys,
Send me an email at shlomygantz@hotmail.com and I will open up source control
so you can commit. Due to some health issues last year I have not had the time
to maintain the project, we actually started working on 3.0 , but had to stop.
I am more than happy to restart the effort and lead it. We actually had some
major companies interested in sponsoring and helping out.

Sorry to hear about your health issues, but I'm glad to see that there's still
interest in this project. Obviously you know most about the project, so it's
probably ideal if you continue to lead it. I'm primarily interested in seeing
increased communication in the issue queue (for instance reconciling the two
different versions of jsGantt 1.2:
https://code.google.com/p/jsgantt/issues/detail?id=88), and getting an ETA on
the next version. Thanks.

Hope you're feeling better. I have some patches I've put at
http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/TracJsGanttPlugin such as
http://trac-hacks.org/changeset/9612. I'd love to get them mainlined.

No more activity on this in nearly a month and a half. Shlomy's comments to
the contrary, it does seem to be orphaned.

Perhaps I've missed it but I haven't seen activity from the owners all this
year. If there isn't a mechanism for adoption, perhaps we need to fork/clone
the project with new owners. I'm in if anyone is interested. I have a minor
fork at http://trac-hacks.org/wiki/TracJsGanttPlugin. I've tried to keep my
changes to jsGantt.js minimal and compatible.
