Strange breakage of Amazon Search Function #53

I'm running Vivaldi 5.1.2567.73 (Stable channel) stable (64-bit) on Linux Mint Cinnamon 20.3.

I had an update for Vivaldi this morning which I applied with Vivaldi closed. Later when I pasted a product name into the search bar on smile.amazon.com and hit search the search failed: the browser simply reloaded the page. From that point on auto complete stopped working as well as search.

I removed the Smile Always extension restarted the browser and I was able to get search back. I reinstalled the extension and broke the search function again.

I assume that something in the Vivaldi update may have been at fault. Or it may be something on your end (I am unclear on how and when your extension is updated). In any case, just an FYI or an issue to look into.

I am going to see if I can mimic the Smile Always extension functionality with settings until this gets sorted.

I ended up creating a new profile and running through the scenario again. It appears to have been something in the Vivaldi profile I had been using because I have not been able to replicate the issue.
