There does not seem to be any way to contact the authors of this library. I
would like to ask permission to use the images provided by this project in
order to construct an open source selector(not 100% openid) to be used with
velruse, a python project.

just in case:
this project is not bound to OpenID, you can use it for OAuth list of
providers, or any other kind list of providers. For example:
http://www.gerixsoft.com/user/login
Notice Facebook button --> Facebook is OAuth
Notice GerixSoft button --> this is neither OpenID nor OAuth but a button for
native Drupal login

Thanks for your timely response. Interesting I did not realize that other
options could be supported. The submissions will be to velruse though and
might have velruse specific fields. I will take a closer look at the jquery
solution though and see if it could be extended or if it even needs to be
extended.

With regards to asking permission I wasn't sure if I would just need the images
and inspiration instead of the entire library and so wasn't sure if the license
covers binary parts of the project as well. For example if its only the images
where would I give attribution? In a LICENSE file within the project I guess?

Thanks for your time.

have a look at http://www.drupal.org/project/openid_selector -- this is Drupal
integration for Javascript OpenID Selector, you may take some ideas about how
to extend Javascript OpenID Selector from there

about licensing: this project is using NewBSD license for all of its files,
except I guess images:
naturally Google is kinda owner of Google logo, isn't it?

Thanks for the help, I still haven't decided for sure on a path but the links
were very helpful. Sorry I didn't get back to the ticket promptly.

see commit http://code.google.com/p/openid-selector/source/detail?r=102 -- it
is now possible to use Facebook/any other kind of provider in openid-selector

I'd recommend to use openid-selector. Open source suffers from forking already.
